I just purchased a compact foundation but I dunno how to apply it correctly so that it looks smooth?

Make sure to moisturize ur skin before using any type of foundation...wait a couple of minutes for the moisturizer to settle in the skin and then apply foundation...start first with a small amount and make sure to blend alot...but try to keep a soft hand at it...and then add more foundation to the face according to how much coverage ur looking for...I just purchased a compact foundation but I dunno how to apply it correctly so that it looks smooth?
Moisturize first!!!!!!!!! Make sure the moisturizer is soaked in (or blot excess w/ a tissue) If you have a pressed powder foundation, the best coverage will come from using a powder brush. If it's a liquid/solid foundation, use a slightly damp makeup sponge. Blend especially well around your jaw line and hair line to avoid the ';foundation ring'; around your face! Hope this helps! Good luck!I just purchased a compact foundation but I dunno how to apply it correctly so that it looks smooth?
well i would just try it when you know for sure you dont have to go any ware but to make it go on smooth and stay depening what you got rub it into your hands and work it in make sure you get the neck i hate when people forget the neck and if you have the sponge aply then still use your hands to smoth it out
by using a cosmetic sponge. be sure to moisturise first then start applying your foundation . don't put too much at a time . just thin layers. smoothen with the sponge.
Using the sponge applicator, dab a thin layer and apply on forehead, nose, lip area and cheeks, re-dab the applicator everyime there is no more foundation. Start with a light layer and build up from there, applying more on areas that need it and blend to it's surrounding.
Use a makeup sponge to blend it into the skin, especially around the hairline, neck and creases of the nose. Sweep it on your t-zone (forehead, nose, chin) and then blend outwards to start, then use the sponge again to blend more foundation if you need it. Be lighthanded around the eye area, nose and upper lip.

It's good to start with a moisturizer underneath first, it creates a better 'canvas' for the foundation to glide over and lessens dry, cakey spots.

Try to avoid using your fingers, too much bacteria and oils. Plus, it doesn't create an even application like a makeup sponge can.
