Yes Chanel works wonders on skin and covering up blemishes and discolorations on your skin, but I really don't know how it would work on dry skin.
I say go for trying the Chanel, you never know when your going to get something great by trying something new. And if it doesn't work out then you can always go back to using your regular. No harm done
